<a href="http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQp1Zj_2Jt7qpHi8O_DLhSp3oy_XxC5RaQDXQEY6FqlQIcDfOwWwT9_syk" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" class="rg_i" data-src="http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQp1Zj_2Jt7qpHi8O_DLhSp3oy_XxC5RaQDXQEY6FqlQIcDfOwWwT9_syk" height="83" name="QFemvn2StzQtTM:" src="http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQp1Zj_2Jt7qpHi8O_DLhSp3oy_XxC5RaQDXQEY6FqlQIcDfOwWwT9_syk" width="165" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Now that we are well into the winter months i find it hard to keep warm, especially when the temperature plummets below freezing. My feet always seem to come off the worst, even when i have good boots and thick socks. Earlier this week i came up with the idea of using insulation to warm the little tootsies up. As you may know Kingspan is one of the best insulations you can use to date,you only have to sit on the stuff and it instantly warms the ol glutimus maximus (ass).</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
So here's what i did: </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifn-bMviOGGoWT6No1f2e9v3yXUZSppKjTq1Q3-vNymEOd-2-A0vmfVCOqMv_hUjLK-VAzxa3hvnUCX6E0mYY2ksOnIRxq47nmOMlYNGAGgsMKCjTKPWc0pknp5NyMijX6Uv_p38cTphE/s1600/2012-01-25+11.11.26.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifn-bMviOGGoWT6No1f2e9v3yXUZSppKjTq1Q3-vNymEOd-2-A0vmfVCOqMv_hUjLK-VAzxa3hvnUCX6E0mYY2ksOnIRxq47nmOMlYNGAGgsMKCjTKPWc0pknp5NyMijX6Uv_p38cTphE/s320/2012-01-25+11.11.26.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<ol>
<li>Find a small off-cut of insulation</li>
<li>Draw around your boot insoles onto the silver side of the insulation</li>
<li>with a sharp knife, cut around the shapes at a depth of 10mm</li>
<li>Now slice the insulation with an old hand saw at a thickness of 3-5mm thick, (depending on how much space you have between the top of your foot and the upper of the boot.)</li>
<li>Pop out the shapes and insert into your boots,silver side up.</li>
<li>now insert your insoles on top. </li>
</ol>
</div>
<br />
You will notice the warmth after a few minutes. Its definitely saved my feet from the cold.<br /><div class="blogger-post-footer"><a href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/contact-us/general-questions.html?ie=UTF8&browse_node_id=508510&ie=UTF8&tag=tjj05-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=390957">Girlie Tools</a><img src="https://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=tjj05-20&l=ur2&o=1" width="1" height="1" border="0" alt="" style="border:none !important; margin:0px !important;" /></div>THE JOLLY JOINERhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10850906738508190949noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7407747901235455939.post-72636828167654391622012-01-29T08:50:00.000+00:002012-01-29T08:50:28.008+00:00COMING UP>>>>>NAIL IT THE EASY WAY.Now we all want to make our lives easier, especially at work. These hammers were used mainly for breaking rocks etc.<br />
<div>
Nowadays hammers are used in different ways, many designs for many uses: sledge hammers for demolition, Ball-peen hammers for mechanics, and brick hammers for bricklayers.</div>
<div>
I am going to talk about carpenters hammers, such as the claw and framing hammer.</div>
<div>
Now wether your a carpenter/joiner or a DIYer, it is always advisable to purchase a good quality claw hammer.It is probably the most important hand tool in the tool box.</div>
<div>
There are many makes and designs on the market today.It all depends on what you want to use, wether its for small house hold tasks or heavy on site bashing and pulling nail jobs.</div>
<div>
Here are a few which i would recommend.</div>

These are Estwing hammers which are designed in America. It is a well known and established name in the building industry.Nearly every joiner i know has an Estwing hammer. Mainly because they are built tough, they last a life time and you would never need to buy another unless It gets nicked, lost or abducted by aliens. Ive had mine for 15 years and it has never failed me. Ive dropped it of scaffolding, I've thrown it against concrete walls ( only when it made contact with a pinky), even survived a running over by a JCB. I wouldn't be without my hardy hammer.<br />
<br />
The first hammer is a weight forward hammer which means the balance is more forward, this helps with the swinging technique and also gains more power and blow with whatever you make contact with. It has a straighter claw which enables you to pull nails in hard to reach places. The straight claw also helps with splitting timber for wedges etc.It has a good grip handle which doesn't give you blisters when used constantly.<br />
<br />
The second hammer is the most popular of all the Estwing range. Its the one i have had for 15 years and is almost indestructible. Its a good all rounder for joiners and DIYers alike. The balance is excellent and its grip is perfect. The end is soft and actually helps with the feel of the swing. Its ideal for knocking in nails time after time without any fatigue over long periods.<br />
<br />
The third Estwing is a classic leather grip design. I have only used one of these once and straight away i loved the feel of the leather which has fantastic grip. Its a nice weighted hammer which is beautifly manufactured. I would have had one but i already owned the other model.E3/23<br />
<br />
Now the EMR/23 is a new model which hasn't been on the market for long. To be honest i haven't ever used this hammer yet but hopefully will be trying it out at a tool fair. Its got the Estwing name so should be good.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
Hammer Five is a Framing hammer, these are much longer than normal claw hammers which produces greater impact for driving long nails into timber,they are used particularly for shuttering and framing. The handle grip is made from liquid vinyl,bonded on to an all steel shaft during production. Like the rest of the hammers they come in different weights 16-30oz i think hammers which are a weight of 20,22oz are the most popular. All have one piece solid shafts which gives them there strength.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
These are just a few hammers on the market, there are umpteen makes but i would always recommend these </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
as they are the best.</div>

Well hopefully if you follow these step by step instructions, you could master it yourself and save yourself a few bucks in the process. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Tools required:</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijihRRa_mL3Ec11M_j7eA97ex9IebU5hXza3DLG1x9yupOgBDXsAmDPXs41OKevZz2yevRPzwLP6-vqLhu2j5XuFvNBN2llc1RwmNYg71koHiTsYxSYlXrmZacGMoQU2GU3SAVtnScfGc/s1600/2011-10-26+10.32.46.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; display: inline !important; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijihRRa_mL3Ec11M_j7eA97ex9IebU5hXza3DLG1x9yupOgBDXsAmDPXs41OKevZz2yevRPzwLP6-vqLhu2j5XuFvNBN2llc1RwmNYg71koHiTsYxSYlXrmZacGMoQU2GU3SAVtnScfGc/s320/2011-10-26+10.32.46.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Drill, 25mm flat bit, 19mm flat bit, </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">sharp 15mm wood chisel, sharp pencil,set square. (A steady hand). </span><br />
<br />
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">This is a latch and keep which you will need to purchase.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>

<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">To start measure down from the top of the door 100cm and mark with a sharp pencil. </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Then use a combination square and find the centre and mark with pencil.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Now you will have a cross which marks the spot to drill.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>

<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Now using a good,fully charged drill with the 25mm flat bit, place the point of the bit on the cross and drill into the door making sure the drill is steady and straight.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"> (If your unsure how deep to go into the door then just drill 10-15mm each time and try the latch in the hole until the correct depth is achieved.)</span></div>

<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Now place the latch in the hole. Hold the latch straight in line with edge of door and draw around neatly.</span></div>

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><img src="http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTnNFAjoQehr1HrRZWZCNWpYrkI01sooURgpTV-xrGgbH4c8qCN" /> </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"> </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">When a couple of VOSA officials (Vehicle and Operator Services Agency) pulled over a large van and accused the driver of being overloaded, he marched round the back of the van and threw open the doors saying: "I cant be overloaded, see, there's room for more stuff in the back!"</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">WRONG! you can still be overloaded even when the vehicle is not fully loaded. Lets say you have a large 3.5 tonne van, this doesn't mean you can carry 3.5 tonne of payload. The 3.5 is the GVW ( Gross Vehicle Weight) which is driver, passengers, fuel, and load. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Different vans vary, such as a 3.5 van with rear wheel drive can carry around 1600kgs, whereas a long wheelbase 3.5 can only carry 1450kgs. So be careful.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><a href="http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQmXaQJCIWgWQdJyUyWPsQxuLQ0A-A2SnfMn11Hg2HBBzZB5xrn" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em; text-align: center;"><br />
</a><a href="http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQmXaQJCIWgWQdJyUyWPsQxuLQ0A-A2SnfMn11Hg2HBBzZB5xrn" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em; text-align: center;"> </a>The easy way to check what weight the van can carry is to look at the VIN plate which is located on the door jamb or under the bonnet.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><img src="http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQmXaQJCIWgWQdJyUyWPsQxuLQ0A-A2SnfMn11Hg2HBBzZB5xrn" /> </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">So there it is people watch what your putting in the back of your vans, or pay the penalty which can be up to £800 so i heard.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

Move the furniture out - and there's a black mould patch behind the wardrobe. It's against a cold exterior wall, clearly a damp trap. How do you locally insulate a wall without disturbing the structure? Answer -<b> Warmaline Wall Veneer</b>. It's a roll of thin sheet expanded polystyrene foam which you stick to the wall underneath the final finish. Ordinary wallpaper adhesive (mixed as for blown vinyls) works well to fix it, and you need to cover the whole wall to avoid an unsightly ridge. You can fill in round windows and the like with offcuts, butting them together. Any small gaps can then be levelled with ordinary plaster filler. Give it a couple of coats of cheap white emulsion and it's ready for the final finish. I used ordinary wallpaper, but painting will work just as well. When done, the wall no longer feels cold to the touch and the damp doesn't return. A brilliantly simple solution to a tricky problem, and as a bonus you'll get some extra insulation.</span></span><div class="blogger-post-footer"><a href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/contact-us/general-questions.html?ie=UTF8&browse_node_id=508510&ie=UTF8&tag=tjj05-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=390957">Girlie Tools</a><img src="https://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=tjj05-20&l=ur2&o=1" width="1" height="1" border="0" alt="" style="border:none !important; margin:0px !important;" /></div>THE JOLLY JOINERhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10850906738508190949noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7407747901235455939.post-54011165508609848632011-12-10T14:43:00.001+00:002012-02-25T21:52:42.798+00:00Amazon.com Gift Cards<div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #38761d;">Are you still stuck for what to give a friend for Christmas. </span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #38761d;">Why not give them a Amazon Gift Card</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #38761d;"><br />

I soon settled in and got friendly with a Joiner. While i was working as a labourer i also started helping out the joiner, i started learning how to hang doors, cut architraves etc. Six months later i quit the labouring job and started working with the joiner who had set me on full time. I also started college on a day release. Had to take a pay cut tho, cant win em all.<br />
I started college at 21, i was the oldest in my class which seemed really weird. All the other lads were strait out of school and so very immature.<br />
Month by month i was getting further and further ahead of the rest of the group, until one day i actually worked up the whole first years syllabus. Id finished my NVQ1course work in record time and just needed my exams to complete which were going to be 5 months away. I still had to go every week but instead of twiddling my thumbs i was asked my my lecturer to help out with the students who were lagging behind in class. I sometimes even took the class when the lecturer had a meeting or went for a sly coffee and cigarette.<br />
The students thought this was cool, as i injected a bit of humour into the class, which got them motivated. I was even given the nickname "Joseph the joiner" The Joseph who was with Mary in the Biblical times, crazy ha?<br />
Life on site wasn't always plane sailing. I remember my first day. We were on a roof erecting roof trusses, now the idea is to nail every truss on an already marked 4x1 horizontal bracing strap. In other words nail the truss on the pencilled cross. I was that nervous and quiet scared of heights too, that i nailed them anywhere but the crosses. About thirty minutes later i had nailed them all. My boss took one look and asked me what i did was right. I looked at the roof and didn't know what to say, the roof was all over the place. It actually looked like a Tornado had swept across it. I thought i was going to get the sack. My boss sent me back on the roof and made me De-nail it all, lesson learned.<br />
Another mistake i made was when i was drilling a hole for a door latch. It was a new ogre bit which are pretty aggressive. That combined with a power drill is even more so. The drill started nice and slow and was boring the hole out nice, so i speeded it up abit, it must have hit a knot because it went straight through the side of the door and into the plastered wall. You can imagine how i felt as i saw the size of the hole in the new door and wall. Its laughable now thinking back.<br />
Even now i still make mistakes no matter how careful i may be. <br />
<br />
More later Folks...<br />

First i wanted to be an Electrician and secondly a fireman. Never got my head around being a sparky and a friend of my dad was a fire chief, and he said i had no chance of been a Water fairy cos I'm Asthmatic. So i left school with all my GCSEs and got a full time job in a large supermarket warehouse. </span><br />
<span style="background-color: white;"> My first day there was to chop and wrap swedes, and i don't mean the human ones...hey we all have to start somewhere.I spent a few years there and saved for my own motor. </span><br />
<span style="background-color: white;"> I left and went to a footwear distributor, i packed and picked shoes all day, but at least i wasn't handling vegetables all day,and it was more money. </span><br />
<span style="background-color: white;">I soon got bored after a few years then left to go to a Fence Manufacturer. I flew through the interview and started a week later. </span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="background-color: white;"> The first day was horrific. The manager showed me how to make a small Trellis, he demonstrated how to use the compressed air gun too. COOL a Gun.</span></div><span style="background-color: white;">I made about 12 trellis ,as i got more confident i got faster and faster. But low and behold BANG!! </span><br />
<span style="background-color: white;">Yes i fired a 1" nail in the end of my finger. Now theres nothing more weird than having a foreign object firmly lodged in your finger, there wasn't even any blood, and it didn't hurt either. </span><br />
<span style="background-color: white;">So i trot off up to the office for the manager to have a look."nar then lad " he says ," wots tha bin doin ear ya daft bugger" </span><br />
<span style="background-color: white;"> Well i accidentally shot myself boss. I'm gonna have to go to A&E to sort it. "Nar just pull it wi these plyers, itil be reet". Thats what all the lads do ere. </span><br />
<span style="background-color: white;">So i took the pliers and braced myself (just short of a stick between my teeth) i pulled the little blighter right out. Almost instantly i experienced a large amount of pain, FOR F*~#X###** .</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white;">Never mind the swearing,you should have seen the amount of blood that pumped out. The boss almost peed his pants.</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white;"> Anyway i bandaged it up and got back to work.</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white;">BANG!! Oh no not again and in the same finger. Now that did hurt,so i trotted back up to the office, i picked up the pliers and yanked. I screamed like a little girl. I looked down and the blooming nail was still there. "Rete lad you will need to go to the A&E now cos you have a small wire attached to the nail, hence why it wont come out"</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white;"> So the boss drove me to the Hospital. I eventually got seen too by a Doctor. And do you know what he did, he got out a pair of pliers and pulled it. Well i nearly shot through the roof.</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white;">I never shot myself again in the 2 years i was at the fencing company.</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white;">What i did learn was the art of making every fence panel design known to man.</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white;"> I became really good at working with timber and so then moved towards getting a job on a building site. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="background-color: white;">More to come tomorrow peeps...</span><div class="blogger-post-footer"><a href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/contact-us/general-questions.html?ie=UTF8&browse_node_id=508510&ie=UTF8&tag=tjj05-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=390957">Girlie Tools</a><img src="https://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=tjj05-20&l=ur2&o=1" width="1" height="1" border="0" alt="" style="border:none !important; margin:0px !important;" /></div>THE JOLLY JOINERhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10850906738508190949noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7407747901235455939.post-49316103826621447132011-10-25T20:47:00.001+01:002011-10-25T21:49:27.285+01:00Tools you will need to fit a Kitchen.<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">If you are reading the kitchen blogs, and are one day going to fit your own, then here is a tool check list you will need to accomplish this task.</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7qigW4P1Ux76WT2TJBCW6deDxEA86bRX8Hgj10GTKTqHwADnaPchVYoWOAjYtxAPwaPvRG2ANjaO6hPo4770xetvSzunNaVTDGYbeM_X-zpPhAD3OC5X8ckFFYpF74nkGatOhAqq5sK8/s1600/2289.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; cssfloat: right; float: right; height: 200px; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em; width: 221px;"><img border="0" height="200" ida="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7qigW4P1Ux76WT2TJBCW6deDxEA86bRX8Hgj10GTKTqHwADnaPchVYoWOAjYtxAPwaPvRG2ANjaO6hPo4770xetvSzunNaVTDGYbeM_X-zpPhAD3OC5X8ckFFYpF74nkGatOhAqq5sK8/s200/2289.jpg" width="200" /></a></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">1. It will be really beneficial to use this method and not to use the germ collecting metal strips. NO NO<br />

I will be attaching some specific tools which i tend to use all the time in my day to day tasks at work.<br />
I will write a few reviews to help you decide which are the best suited for you.<br />

<br />
Did you know that the Kitchen alone can add 1000s to the sale of your home. It is probably the most important room in the house,and could sway the decision of a buyer. This is why its imperative to get the kitchen just right.<br />
Make sure you mull over plenty of ideas, look in magazines at what designs, colour schemes and finishing touches you can use to make your kitchen the best it can be.<br />
<br />
*If your present kitchen is still in good shape you could always try and sell it. Take photos and write down the cupboard sizes and appliances etc. You never know a local Landlord/ Landlady may buy it off you for a rental property. <br />
<br />
You have a busy few weeks ahead.<br />
Don't forget you may need a skip when the kitchen arrives, there will be alot of packaging.<br />
<br />
<br />

Your next step is to find a good plumber and electrician. You cant fit your own kitchen without the expertise of these trades, unless you yourself are qualified to do the tasks of electrics and gas fitting. <br />
Electrician: These guys n gals wont even touch most electrics in your house unless you have an up to date RCD consumer board (Fuse box), this will protect your home and family and the sparky doing the work. Your electrician will probably suggest that you have one fitted if you haven't already , if he doesn't suggest this then id be a little weary . <span style="color: #e06666;">Don't forget its safety first.</span><br />
<span style="color: #e06666;"> </span><span style="color: black;">When you find your sparky tell them what your plans are for the kitchen and give them a copy of your kitchen plan.They will then take you through the process and tell you there ideas too. Always ask for a "quotation not an "estimate". A quotation is where the price they give you is the price you pay, an estimate is a close guess and you will normally pay more.</span><br />
Always get at least 3 quotations and tell them to itemise the quotation on a letter head or Email so you know what your getting for your money. <br />
Plumber: You will need a plumber to either disconnect your gas appliances , fit your sink or move your gas supply to another part of the kitchen. The fitting of the sink can be done by you if needs be and probably save you around £100.I can help you with this in a later blog. To disconnect the gas oven or hob or move a supply to another zone is a definite for a plumber and is a no no for you to do yourself.<br />
The same as the sparky, get 3 quotes and make sure there all pricing for the same job item.<br />
<br />
Little tip.. don't always go for the cheapest quote, most times "you get what you pay for" and also trust your own instinct, it can count for more than you think. Its always a good idea to hire a trades person through a recomendation. Always ask to see there certificates too so you know there properly qualified,<span style="color: #e06666;"> Theres alot of cowboys out there.</span><br />
Ok you have choosen your sparky and your plumber and youve given them a start date.<br />
Next is your shedual<br />
<br />
Thanks for reading The Jolly Joiner ;-)<div class="blogger-post-footer"><a href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/contact-us/general-questions.html?ie=UTF8&browse_node_id=508510&ie=UTF8&tag=tjj05-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=390957">Girlie Tools</a><img src="https://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=tjj05-20&l=ur2&o=1" width="1" height="1" border="0" alt="" style="border:none !important; margin:0px !important;" /></div>THE JOLLY JOINERhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10850906738508190949noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7407747901235455939.post-8074556186608998442011-10-03T20:59:00.000+01:002011-10-03T20:59:14.309+01:00How to choose the right kitchen and save £100sSo your thinking of buying a new kitchen,and hopefully fitting it yourself, as you may know there is a huge range out there with all sorts of gadgetry, styles and choices of materials to choose from. My advise is to start with a budget and stick to it as best you can, because it can soon spiral out of control, especially when your sat with a sales rep...<br />
Don't forget if your considering fitting it yourself you need to keep it as simple as possible.<br />
The best thing to do is go to at least 3 different kitchen companies and let them measure your kitchen up and design it for you. This is normally free at most companies. if you get 3 design/quotes on different ranges then you have a good comparison. This way you can play each company of each other by getting them to beat previous quotations. You could soon save <span style="color: red;">100s</span> by doing this. Don't forget to<span style="color: #b45f06;"> be cheeky</span> and ask for a free dishwasher or a gadget you may have seen.<span style="color: #e06666;"> Remember they need your business!!</span><br />
Another great tip, is to ask for a trade account. You don't need to be in the trade to open one, you just need a couple of references to put on your form.(i don't even think they check).This way you can save <span style="color: red;">100s</span> extra. <span style="color: #e06666;">Remember they need your business!!</span><br />
<span style="color: #e06666;"> </span><span style="color: black;">To save further<span style="color: red;"> 100s</span> ask for the prices of all the appliances and highlight them on your quote. Then go on line and find the same items and buy them direct.There normally much cheaper. You can also get most online companies to deliver for free, if not tell them.</span><span style="color: #e69138;"> <span style="background-color: white;">Be cheeky!</span></span><br />
<span style="color: #e06666;"> </span><span style="color: black;">Ok you have your free C.A.D drawing, your kitchen plan and a delivery date..... (to be continued)</span><br />
<span style="color: #e06666;"> </span><br />
